Gossamer Blue | a sketch + October sneak...

as i was ready to submit my layout to our Gossamer Blue design team coordinator, i realized that i created my sketch layout using October kits products and NOT September kits products. i was on such a roll and completely forgot to pull out this months products to complete my assignment. but hey, it happens to the best of us, right?!

the fun part, you get to see a little more of what is coming (subscribers) and (non-subscribers) in the next day or two.

i LOVE it. i'm a total sucker for using repetitive titles and elements throughout a page design and i fell in love with Heathers sketch. Inspired me to use photos I had laying around that went perfectly with October’s color palette… hence the sneak peek details of my page.

now, head on over to today's September sketch challenge blog post for your chance to win a $10 Gift Card to Gossamer Blue's shop. it's a fun challenge and you will be inspired to create with one amazing sketch... xo!!

Gossamer Blue | get happy project...

good Friday morning...

this month Gossamer Blue is featuring their brand new paper, stamps and embellishment collections with projects created by the design team. today is all about Get Happy... LOVE LOVE the Christmas collection. this collection is are fantastic! i truly enjoyed creating with it...

i went a little stamp crazy for my page, LOL. i was inspired by a Christmas card and loved the idea of how the snowflakes cluttered around the title.

the title treatment uses negative space, cut from my Cameo and backed with stripe pattern paper. and the lines are machine stitched at top and bottom of title. to create the snowflake cascading from the title area, i covered the title with paper and stamped various shades of black ink. then added pops of red by anchoring layered poinsettias i cut out with my Cameo.

the pocket holder store hidden journaling and a list of Christmas books Corinne read that year.

be sure to check out the GB blog for more Get Happy projects :)

Gossamer Blue | note to self...

good morning... my blog post for Gossamer Blue went live yesterday. i created a non-photo page using a mix of September main kit, add-on and life page kits. the focus of my layout is just using words and surround them with 3x4 size journaling cards, pattern paper and plenty of embellishments to convey my story, my thoughts. something i hope to do more when pictures are not available or when the mood strikes. you can read more about my page on Gossamer Blue blog...

PageMaps | September layout sketch...

hey friends... the September PageMaps layout sketch i selected is all about circles. i love me some circles and i especially loved the grid design Becky made. such a fun page to make with lots of stitching and swirls of twine and a nice layer of cardstock framing the images and elements.

i love these photos of Corinne. my husband snapped them last fall of her swinging in the backyard... one of her favorite things to do outside. there were so many expressions of her that made me smile and the composition of the photos are great, too... that's what you don't see since i had to cut them into circles.

have an awesome week... xo!

Gossamer Blue | September kit layout...

hello September!!

so, if you haven't yet, you best get your hands on some Gossamer Blue this month. holy wow!!! the kit was all sorts of amazing with lots and lots of gold glam and fun embellies!

the September main kit is fabulous! what i loved more about it were the mix of graphic and whimsical patterns... the colors are fun, which screamed summer! i wanted to use every last bit of the paper, but had to pick only a few to complete my page. i added the large sunburst at top of page and machine stitched each piece for that bit of added texture to my page. the gold embellishments are perfect accents for my page, too.

i'm almost sad that summer is nearly over. we didn't spend a lot of time at the beach like i wanted to. but for the most part, we had a great time during our beach and lake visits the past three months. i'm looking forward to less humid days and lots more sunshine!

have a FAB week... xo!
