listening to... Pure Heroine

it usually takes two or three really good songs from one single album before i go out & purchase it - yes i still buy cds, i like having a hardcopy. after hearing two more tunes after loving Royals, i had to pick up a copy of Lorde's, Pure Heroine. it has some surprise beats that i have been drawn to and the entire cd is awesome! love her voice and her lyrics. my kids even have a few of their own favorite songs... mine are Team, Tennis Court, Glory and Gore, 400 Lux, etc. but it's rare you'll find me skipping songs b/c their all good...

food | weekday cooking, Shrimp...

i have been craving a really good meal that required shrimp, white wine and cream and i found this yummy recipe that was loved and devoured by the family. they practically licked the bowl the sauce was served in, literally! egg noodles complimented the sauce and shrimp perfectly for the family and i enjoyed it w/out the noodles. the man stated i should have made more than what i did, ha! that would have required a LOT more butta. yes, i used a whole stick of butta, a little more than the recipe called for. no, not super duper healthy. but hey, it was worth every bite. it's super fast and easy! plus, i never thought of adding cream cheese to a cream sauce before, new to me! a definite keeper to our weekly menu...

Gossamer Blue | October projects...

hey there, it's that time again... another Fantastic month at Gossamer Blue. This months October kits are jam packed with an abundance of goodies. and to top it off, there are MORE kits to chose from. i really enjoyed this months theme, color combo and the digital die-cut and printable files are awesome!

due to time constraints on the personal front, i only completed two layouts (and project 12 spread). i really wanted to create more, but couldn't fit it all it. but i'm delighted how my two layouts turned out in the end...

i added little bits and pieces of elements throughout this page to compliment my family photo of us, from summer trip down south last year. i debated about converting the photo to b&w, but instead, i bounced off splashes of color from the image to my page design. my favorite part of the layout is using the woodgrain die-cut to frame my photo, which pops nicely nestled w/in the tone-on-tone frame.

my second layout, Fun at the Pumpkin Patch, was super simple. i combined a little bit of goodies found in all the kits including the Life Pages printable, (except the color kit and main kit) to complete this page. i created the simple photo collage in photoshop elements and printed out onto one sheet of photo paper. i went with b&w photos since i didn't really care for the orange and green tones and used i added the fall border strip i designed to highlight my title.

thanks so much for stopping by... be sure to pick up your favorite kit(s) in the Gossamer Blue store today...
